Money motivates doesn't it?
Andy over at Sirona Consulting posted this youtube clip from Dan Pink, the best selling workplace author and motivator.
Dan cleverly demonstrates that money is not always the key motivator. My belief is that this can only work where people have been released from the worry of money in their everyday lives. As a student, the bank of Mum and Dad covers your financial drivers so these students are able to create amazing things that are motivated by self direction, mastery and purpose. As a working adult it is only when you perceive yourself to be earning the "right" level of money that you will be motivated by these other things.
I think the challenge for companies is to know when an individual's money worries are removed.
Watch this and let me know what you think?
