The worst answer you can give in an interview
Do you have any questions?
When asked this in a job interview, the worst answer you can give is no, I think you have answered all my questions. If you answer no, you look unprepared, uninterested and uneducated. So how do you know what questions to ask. The best questions come from the natural dialogue exchanged during the interview process, but if this doesn't happen, come prepared with business or the vacancy specific questions.
To avoid sounding as if you did no research on the company, avoid broad questions about the company's product, service, mission statement etc. This information can usually be found on their website or a simple Google search. Ask specific business or position related questions.
Here are just a few ideas you could take with you to the interview:
Describe a typical day for you in this organisation.
What do you like best about your job?
What are the future projections for change within the position and the department?
Do you offer any opportunities for professional development and training.
What are your future investment plans in terms of technology, machinery and people?
Can you outline the hiring process and timelines.
If anyone has some other interesting, relevant questions that can be posed, please leave a comment.
