Dress up for an interview
I am going to rant this morning as I can't believe that something so simple as making sure you are dressed appropriately for an interview is still ignored by people.
I interviewed someone last night and they turned up in jeans, I was horrified. My first impression was, this individual can't be bothered. If they are this way at the interview, what attitude will they have to our customers when they are employed. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but sometimes you need to follow the rules.
My advice is always wear a suit, you can't go wrong.
I am not interested if a suit doesn't reflect the real you, you need to make an impression. Lets say that the interviewer has 2 strong candidates, one turns up in a suit and the other doesn't, which one do you think they will choose.
I can't emphasise enough what you wear says about you, wearing a suit for an interview signals that you really want the job. You have put some effort into the interview and truly care about the role.
As for the guy last night, he's a definite no!
